Presales
How to create and run a token presale
Learn how RobinSmith presales work, including token inventory, approvals, caps, contributions, finalization, claims, refunds, and automatic liquidity.
Presale requirements
- The connected wallet must own a supported RobinSmith token.
- The wallet must hold the required token inventory before creating the sale.
- The start time must leave enough time for metadata upload, approval, and wallet confirmation.
- The sale terms must satisfy the contract limits for caps, contributions, duration, liquidity, and LP lock time.
Launch a presale
- 1Select the token and confirm its on-chain owner and supply details.
- 2Add the presale logo, banner, description, and optional social links. Public metadata is uploaded to IPFS.
- 3Set the token rate, soft cap, hard cap, minimum and maximum contribution, start and end times, liquidity allocation, and LP lock duration.
- 4Approve only the required token inventory when prompted.
- 5Review the platform fee and submit the presale creation transaction.
What happens after the sale?
- Active sale: eligible wallets can contribute ETH within the configured limits.
- Successful sale: anyone can finalize after the sale ends successfully or reaches its hard cap.
- Finalization: the contract deducts the success fee, creates DEX liquidity, locks LP tokens, and sends the non-liquidity proceeds to the creator.
- Claims: a contributor can claim the purchased tokens after successful finalization.
- Failed sale: contributors can individually refund their own contributed amount after the sale fails.
Finalization is permissionless
The creator does not need to be online to finalize an eligible sale. Any wallet may call finalize when the contract conditions are satisfied.
Token transfer restrictions
If a token uses allowlist or transfer restrictions, contributors must be able to receive their claimed tokens. Review the token controls before launching the presale so successful buyers are not blocked from claiming.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Does a presale finalize automatically?+
Reaching the hard cap makes the sale eligible for finalization, but a wallet still submits the finalize transaction. The contract allows anyone to call it when eligible.
Who can request a refund?+
After a failed sale, each contributing wallet requests the refund for its own contribution.
